WA's Leader in Neurodiversity-Affirming and Trauma-Informed Behaviour Support
At Waves, we believe every child and family deserves support that feels safe, respectful, and affirming. We provide Positive Behaviour Support that is trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and shaped by lived experience.
Many of our team are parents and carers ourselves — we know the ups, the challenges, and the triumphs. That understanding is at the heart of how we work. We don’t offer “one-size-fits-all” strategies; we walk alongside you to create practical, realistic supports that genuinely fit into your daily life.
When you engage with Waves, you’ll find a team that:
- Centres lived experience as much as professional expertise.
- Recognises neurodivergence as human diversity, not something to be “fixed.”
- Prioritises safety, trust, and collaboration at every step.
- Focuses on building skills, confidence, and quality of life.
Neurodiversity affirming and trauma informed support
We understand that each situation is unique, which is why we provide tailored support for a wide range of challenges.
Our expertise lies in supporting and empowering participants with complex support needs. We provide personalised assistance for a range of personal and situational challenges, including:
- Navigating justice, health, or mental health services
- Making informed decisions and planning for the future
- Addressing safety concerns, including personal and community safety
- Accessing the right services and support networks
- Supporting families with multiple members living with disabilities
- Managing care and living arrangements that are difficult to maintain
With our experience and commitment, we help participants overcome barriers and find the right supports, creating safer, more sustainable, and more positive outcomes for themselves and their families.
We are here to support you and the ones you care about live their best life.
We offer the following support services
Positive Behaviour Support
At Waves, our expertise is in providing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) tailored to each child, young person, or adult. We help participants, families, and carers by:
- Developing Behaviour Support Plans: Creating strategies that are practical, respectful, and evidence-informed.
- NDIS Support Planning: Helping participants access behaviour support within their NDIS plans, including guidance on funding and goals.
- Family Collaboration & Guidance: Working closely with families to implement strategies successfully at home and in the community.
- School & Team Collaboration: Partnering with educators and support staff to ensure consistent, positive approaches.
Our team combines professional expertise with lived experience. Many of us are parents or carers ourselves, which means we truly understand the challenges and successes that families face every day.
Each member brings their own background and skills, united by a shared commitment to:
- Providing trauma-informed and neuroaffirming support
- Listening, understanding, and collaborating with families and participants
- Ensuring every strategy is practical, respectful, and personalised
